Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig November 21, 1983) is an American actress, best well-known for her role in the roles of Shannon Rutherford on the ABC television show Lost and Kim Mills in the Taken trilogy. Originally from Worthington Ohio, she dropped out of high school to move in Los Angeles with her mother following her divorce from her parents. Although she was struggling financially, her 2001 debut was as Rachel's Room's primary character. After earning a Young Artist Award in 2002 due to her role in Murder on the streets of Greenwich of a 15-year young Martha Moxley as a murder victim, she went on to take home the award. Grace Rutherford was the lead actress in Lost during its initial two seasons. In 2004, she was awarded the Screen Actors Guild Award with all of the ensemble. Grace has worked together with Tom Welling on The Fog during 2005, wanted to move into the world of film. Grace has been as Kim Mills in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club and in 2007 and in Taken with Liam Neeson in 2008 as Kim Mills. In 2008, she reprised the role Taken 2 (2013) and Taken 3 (2015). She also played Alice in Malice in Wonderland which is an updated version that Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace reprised the role as Shannon in two more episodes of Lost including the series finale. The actress was featured in 2013's seventh season Californication. She portrays Faith as a groupie, and also her muse to the stars, who catches the eye of Hank Moody played by David Duchovny. She is part of the Gyllenhaal family and is the older sister of Jake Gyllenhaal. As a teenager, she played small parts in her father's movies and was co-starring with her twin brother on Donnie Darko which is a cult classic. Her subsequent roles included Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind which was released in 2002 as well as Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal has received critical praise for her leading roles in Secretary (2002 the erotic romance drama) and Sherrybaby (606), both of which earned the actress Golden Globe Award nods. In the wake of several successful commercial films such as World Trade Center in 2006 her name was recognized more widely for her role as Rachel Dawes (the superhero) in The Dark Knight (2007). Nominated in the Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress for her role in Crazy Heart, (2009). She subsequently starred in the dramatics and comedies: Nanny McPhee and The Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) and The Won't Back Down (2012). In addition to her role as an agent of the Secret Service agent, she also appeared in White House Down (2013) as well as Frank (2014). The most recent roles were as the main character The Kindergarten Teacher The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). Gyllenhaal composed and directed her debut film The Lost Daughter in 2021. The thriller that dealt with psychological issues was awarded the Best Screenplay Award from the Venice International Film Festival. It was also nominated to The Academy Award of Best Adapted Screenplay.
