Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri dixit, an Indian actress who is famous for her role in Hum Aapke Hain Koun (Beta Saajan) and Beta Saajan is one of the most popular Indian actors. Her career began in the 1980s and came to prominence with her performance in the film Tezaab in which she was a part of the cast alongside the veteran actor Anil Kapoor. In the next film, Dil, Aamir Khan appeared with her. As a young child growing up in Mumbai's middle class she learned to dance. She ventured into acting as young and fought for a few years as many of her early film projects were unsuccessful. Eventually, she found success in Indian film and climbed to the top. After her marriage, she took a hiatus in her career. Later, she returned. Recently, she had an integral role in the film Gulaab Gang which was about the challenges faced by women in India. Dixit has been nominated 15 times in the Filmfare Awards. She won 8 of these. Dixit was also awarded the Padma Shri the fourth highest civilian honor in India. In addition, she is known for her charitable works.
